On the Mediterranean coast of the Turkish town of Kemer, surrounded by the majestic Taurus Mountains, lies the unique Lims Bona Dea Beach Hotel. This hotel embodies family values and traditions, nurtured by a love for nature and beauty. It is a place where the land has history, the walls hold dreams, and the atmosphere is filled with genuine hospitality.
The hotel's history began almost half a century ago when it was an orange grove owned by a local family. More than fifty years ago, when Kemer was still a simple fishing village, only four families lived there. One of them was the family of the owners of the Bona Dea Hotel.
When the first European tourists started arriving in the region, the family organized a campsite and a beach restaurant called Panorama (yes, today that's the name of the hotel's beach bar). For a long time, this was a popular and beloved place for both tourists and locals to relax and enjoy themselves. However, as time went on, tourism in the region developed, and the town was filled with hotels. In 2004, the construction of the Bona Dea Hotel began, lasting two winters (as construction is prohibited in the tourist town during the summer). On June 1, 2006, Bona Dea welcomed its first guests.
Interestingly, during the hotel's construction, the owners preserved two majestic olive trees at the heart of the garden, planted in the year the Republic of Turkey was founded—1923. Today, these trees are 101 years old. They serve as a reminder of the strength of tradition and the importance of caring for nature.
Choosing a name for the hotel was quite challenging. However, it was clear that the hotel's name would be somehow intertwined with the mythology of ancient civilizations that once touched these lands. Thus, the name of the Roman goddess of goodness, Bona Dea, was chosen. Her name is a symbol of purity and fertility.
LIMS also has its own significance—it is an acronym for the names of the children of Gülsüm Hanım, the landowner where the hotel stands: Lütfiye, Ismail, Mustafa, and Sıddıka. They became the founders of the hotel.
LIMS BONA DEA BEACH HOTEL is one of the few hotels in Kemer that has not changed ownership over the years and has lovingly and carefully developed, preserving the family values embedded in it. In 2023, the hotel underwent a complete renovation of its rooms, giving the interiors a modern feel while retaining the warmth and coziness the hotel has been known for since its inception. Each room is now an ideal blend of comfort and style, where guests can truly relax and forget about everything. Most importantly, the hotel still maintains its atmosphere of simplicity and family warmth.
We are proud that over 60% of our visitors are regular guests, some of whom have been coming since the hotel's opening. Their children now come with their own families to stay at our hotel.
Many couples have celebrated their weddings here, spent their honeymoons, and conceived their children (even those who were told by doctors they could only have children through IVF). Many school graduates, full of hope, have tossed their caps into the air at their graduation ceremonies, marking a new stage in their lives. Many companies have held their training sessions and corporate events here, entrusting all the organization and service to us. Bloggers and athletes participating in the annual Sea to Sky competition, climbing Mount Tahtalı, have also stayed here.
